Renewable capacity for a growing system.
The proposed project is intended to contribute new renewable generation capacity to Liberia's electricity system and support the country's broader objectives of increasing reliable electricity supply, diversifying generation and expanding access to power.
Phoenix is pursuing the project as an Independent Power Producer development, with the Liberia Electricity Corporation envisioned as the long-term electricity off-taker, subject to negotiation and execution of definitive agreements.
A strategic corridor.
Margibi County occupies a strategically important position within Liberia's economic and transportation corridor. The county's proximity to Roberts International Airport, major commercial activity, growing communities and the national electricity network presents an opportunity to develop energy infrastructure that can support both existing and future electricity demand.
The proposed project is also being developed within the broader context of increasing electricity access and economic activity across Margibi County.
Bringing in specialized expertise.
Phoenix is working to bring together experienced regional technical and financing partners to support the development and eventual implementation of the project.
